How Much Does Sealcoating Cost in Oklahoma?
The honest answer: it depends on your pavement. Sealcoating is priced by the job, not by a flat menu, because no two lots in Oklahoma are in the same shape.
The biggest factors are square footage, the current condition of the asphalt, and how much prep work is needed. A lot with heavy cracking needs crack filling before coating. A lot with oil spots needs those treated. A freshly paved lot needs neither.
Oklahoma's climate cuts both ways. Our hot, dry summers are actually great for curing sealcoat — but they're also the reason your asphalt needs it. UV oxidation bakes the binders out of unprotected pavement, which is what turns rich black asphalt gray and brittle within a few seasons.
What a quote should include: surface cleaning and prep, the sealcoat application itself (ask whether it's coal tar or asphalt emulsion), and a plan for re-striping if it's a commercial lot. If a contractor won't walk your lot before quoting, that's a red flag.
